Megan Waples is a policy analyst, writer, and legislative attorney. Megan received her BA from Brown University with a concentration in environmental studies, and worked on environmental issues for five years prior to law school. She graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law summa cum laude in 2006, and practiced as a plaintiff's class action attorney for six years. Megan has previously worked as policy analyst with the Colorado Department of State, working on legislative issues, open records, and responding to litigation, and is currently a legislative drafter and attorney for the Colorado General Assembly.
Megan most recently authored a book about the legal history of rape, exploring the meaning of the crime as it has historically been defined; how that history affects our views of men, women, and sex today; and how we can reform our law to better reflect our ideals of justice and gender equality.
